When investing in a SLR Digital Camera there are many factors you need to consider before you make your purchase. You need to make sure the camera you choose has all of the features you need to ensure you get the best photos. Here is a guide to the 3 of the best SLR cameras to help with your decision.
1- Canon EOS 1D Mark IV[frame_left src=”http://userhaven.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/canon_eos-1d_mark_iii_angle_medium1.jpg” href=”http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002TG3ZYQ/?tag=electronicsfb-20″] [/frame_left] This professional Canon SLR camera has many features, excellent design, long battery life and takes excellent quality photos, all things I’m sure you want from your SLR camera. The design of the camera is excellent, it feels durable and robust and this camera will be perfect for shooting in extreme weather conditions.
Weighing at 2.6lbs this camera is heavier than others on the market but it has got more features, and a larger 3-inch LCD display screen. The LCD screen has an anti-reflective glare so you can review your photos in any weather condition.
The image quality from this Canon professional SLR camera is excellent. The Al Servo II AF focus tracking feature helps you to improve the stability and focus when you’re taking photos this will ensure you have no blurry images. The Dual DIGIC 4 image processor fitted in this camera means that it is quieter to use than its predecessors and the latest image processor means you can shoot up to 10 frames per second. One feature that is missing however is a built in red eye removal.
The battery life is excellent and one small lithium CR2025 coin cell battery can capture up to 1500 pictures. These batteries are light and cheap if you buy batteries online. The camera has an auto shut off setting, which you can personalize to your requirements to help get the most from your battery life.
2- Nikon D3X[frame_left src=”http://userhaven.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/288px-Nikon_D3_img_12461.jpg” href=”http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001MJ03U0/?tag=electronicsfb-20″] [/frame_left] This Nikon digital SLR camera is built to last, it is made with magnesium-alloy making it durable and an excellent camera to withstand the elements. This camera has also been designed with a special sealing to protect it from dust, which can be one of the most damaging things to your SLR camera.
The Nikon D3X is easy to use and the design of the camera makes you feel like you know how to use it from first use as all the buttons and settings are in the places you’d expect to find them, this is useful if you’re anti-manual!
The image quality from the Nikon D3X is excellent and the camera has 24.5MP and its 3-inch LCD display has an impressive 921,000 pixels, which is one of the highest on the market.
The camera has 12 different shooting settings including neutral, monochrome and standard to help get the look you want. One of the features the Nikon D3X excels in is its Autofocus; it has 4 different AF settings that are fast and accurate.
The battery life is incredible on this camera, powered by a rechargeable Li-Ion EN-EL4 battery you can get up to 4400 pictures from one battery charge. This really is an exceptional amount of photos and should ensure that you do not miss any valuable moments.
3- Olympus E-5[frame_left src=”http://userhaven.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/ZURFRONT1-e1345655471634.jpg” href=”http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0042X9MNM/?tag=electronicsfb-20″] [/frame_left] The Olympus E-5 is much lower priced than the two previous cameras but it still has great features and is an excellent SLR camera. It has a 12.4MP resolution and 3-inch LCD display. The Olympus E-5 is an excellent upgrade if you have had Olympus cameras previously, the design is similar to its predecessors so will be familiar. The body of the camera is magnesium-alloy, which makes it durable and able to withstand extreme conditions.
With a 12.4MP the Olympus E-5 has a much lower pixel count than the Nikon and Canon cameras reviewed above however it still captures sharp professional images. It has a built in stabilizer to ensure your images are not blurred. This camera has 10 built in art filters which are all excellent for adding a different effect to your photos, these include a pop-art filter, light tone and dramatic. It can be a bit difficult to capture darker images on the Olympus E-5 however if you increase the ISO you will be able to capture excellent darker images.
The battery life on the Olympus E-5 SLR camera is not as good as you’d hope, it can take up to 870 images on a single battery charge which is still a large amount but no where near as many as the Nikon or Canon cameras. For some users the 870 images would be more than enough but if you were going to be shooting all day this might not be the best camera for you, however with it being a great deal cheaper than the other reviewed cameras it is still a considerable amount of images for the price.
