The other day someone brought me a laptop, they were trying to boot to a CD-ROM and the laptop kept skipping all that to boot to the HD.
Turns out this is a thing for the Toshiba Satellite l655d-s5050. Toshiba included a “fast boot” option; an option which tells the laptop to skip everything, the BIOS prompt the boot menu, all of it, and boot directly from the HDD.
Well if your OS is corrupt, that might be a problem. So how do you get to the boot option menu when your laptop is set to go straight to the HD?
Here, try this:
If you’ve got a Toshiba Satellite l655d-s5050 and you need to enter the BIOS or you need to get to the BIOS menu, see if any of the this works for you;
To enter Setup; hold F2 before you press the power button, and continue to hold it down until it comes up.
To enter the Boot Menu; hold F12 before you press the power button, and continue to hold it down until it comes up.
